The Chicago Bears are in need of a new head coach after parting ways with head coach Matt Eberflus earlier this season, and it sounds like the team is bringing in a very veteran coach for an interview.
According to a report from NFL insider Dan Graziano of ESPN, the Chicago Bears are bringing in Pete Carroll for an interview this week.
“Bears plan to interview former Seahawks coach Pete Carroll for their vacant head coach job Thursday, sources tell me and [Jeremy Fowler],” Graziano said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
Obviously, Carroll has a lot of experience at the NFL level, particularly during his time with the Seattle Seahawks. Carroll spent 14 years in Seattle, winning one Super Bowl and going to another one.
Carroll is certainly not the only person vying for the job.
According to Pro Football Talk, the Bears are also speaking to Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing, Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores, Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken, Giants assistant head coach and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, and former Titans head coach Mike Vrabel.
We’ll have to see who the Bears choose.
