The Las Vegas Raiders are a team still trying to figure things out after moving from Oakland to Las Vegas. Las Vegas has been searching for an identity since the move, and many thought, including owner Mark Davis, that head coach Antonio Pierce was the guy who would bring that culture to the Raiders.
Unfortunately, things never quite panned out for Pierce, and Las Vegas went 4-13 in his lone season at the helm. According to one prominent NFL insider, Pierce’s time in Las Vegas has come to an end.
“The (Raiders) have fired coach Antonio Pierce following a trying season, despite a flurry at the end, per me, (Tom Pelissero) and (Mike Garafolo). One and done for Pierce, and Las Vegas is open once again,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport then followed up with context on the decision from the Raiders’ ownership.
“The team played incredibly hard and owner Mark Davis celebrated that. In the end, it wasn’t enough.”

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“We knew this was coming which I think was the wrong decision he’s a rookie coach,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Bro was given AOC and Minshew as QBs what was he suppose to do,” another fan added.
“Sometimes actually managing a game properly is important,” one fan added.
“The raiders are not committed to just win baby no matter what coach they hire,” wrote someone else.
It’ll be interesting to see what’s next for Pierce as he looks to land on his feet.
