Tech billionaire Elon Musk is at the center of the public eye these days after publicly supporting President-elect Donald Trump during his 2024 campaign.

After his victory over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, Trump even promoted Musk to help lead the DOGE Department, which is dedicated to cutting superfluous government agencies and things of the sort. Musk’s new involvement in politics even has him taking on social issues.

Former NCAA swimmer and conservative media member Riley Gaines recently took to TikTok to talk about how her husband, who is originally from England, still doesn’t isn’t a legal citizen of the United States.

“Maybe you think you think he’s well on his way to a U.S. citizen, and you would be wrong. After two and a half years of marriage, he still doesn’t have his green card,” Gaines says, in the video.

Musk posted the video on Twitter with the caption: “Legal immigration to America is ridiculously slow & difficult, even for super talented people. Needs to be fixed.”

This is a brutal turn for Musk, after campaigning with Trump, who appears to be so avidly against immigration into the United States, as rumors of him removing birthright citizenship circulate.

Fans reacted to Musk’s post on social media.

“Hey guys at least they are gonna replace us “legally” right?!” one betrayed-feeling Trump supporter said on Twitter.

“No we need to stop all immigration,” another crazed person added.

“America does absolutely not need more immigration – “legal” or not,” added someone who must’ve forgotten that the country was created by immigrants.

It’ll be interesting to see if Musk can get the rest of his supporters to come to their senses on all immigration.
