It seems that Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce and his teammate Patrick Mahomes were the victims of a burglary last month.
According to a police report obtained by TMZ Sports, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes had their homes broken into on Oct. 7 while the two players were away from their homes for their primetime matchup with the New Orleans Saints.
“Sources familiar with the situation tell us Kelce’s Leawood, Kansas mansion was broken into just hours later … on Oct. 7 — the same day the Chiefs took on the Saints in a ‘Monday Night Football’ matchup at Arrowhead Stadium,” TMZ reported on Tuesday.
“It’s currently unclear what — if anything — was taken. In the Mahomes case, officials say they’re still investigating the matter. In Kelce’s, a police activity log appears to show that the break-in was reported sometime on Oct. 8 — but no further details were available.”
“Our sources say they believe the two burglaries may be part of a larger crime spree in the area,” the TMZ report continued.
Kelce actually moved to this home after his romance with Swift went public, seeking more privacy.
It’s worth noting that Taylor Swift was at the game cheering on her boyfriend Travis Kelce and Mahomes’ family was also at the game, so nobody appeared to be at either of the homes.
Kelce, obviously, was one of the most prominent players in the league for the past several years, but his popularity – and net worth – has soared after he began dating pop sensation Taylor Swift.
It seems like Kelce’s celebrity status made him a target for the burglars.
It’s not clear whether or not the police have any leads on any potential suspects.
