The Major League Baseball world lost an absolute icon this week as Cincinnati Reds legend Pete Rose passed away on Monday at the age of 83 years old. And former United States President Donald Trump thinks he belongs in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Pete Rose undoubtedly had a career worthy of the Hall of Fame. He is Major League Baseball’s all-time leader in hits
with 4,256, games played with 3,562, at-bats with 14,053, and singles with 3,215.
He was a 17-time All-Star – at five different positions – who won three World Series championships, three batting titles, one Most Valuable Player Award, two Gold Glove Awards, and the Rookie of the Year Award.
However, he has been excluded from the Hall of Fame after he admitted to gambling on baseball.
However, after his death, Donald Trump thinks it’s time for Rose to be invited into the Hall of Fame.
“The GREAT Pete Rose just died. He was one of the most magnificent baseball players ever to play the game. He paid the price! Major League Baseball should have allowed him into the Hall of Fame many years ago. Do it now, before his funeral!” Trump said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
Rose absolutely earned his spot in Cooperstown with his play on the field.
We’ll have to see whether or not the Hall of Fame decides to admit him.
