Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams took quite a few hits during Sunday night’s loss to the Houston Texans, and it sounds like he was feeling it a bit after the game.
During his postgame press conference, Caleb Williams admitted that he was hurting after all the hits he took from the Texans’ defense.
“A little bruised up,” Williams said after the game according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports.
“You know, I took a couple hits today. I’m gonna get into the ice tub and do all the things I need to do to make sure that my body’s ready for tomorrow, practice on the other days and obviously next game.”
Williams was technically only sacked three times in the game, but he was hit by pass rushers several more times than that and also carried the ball five times.
The pressure that Williams faced likely played a major role in Williams’ struggles as he threw interceptions in back-to-back drives on Sunday night.
Needless to say, it’s pretty clear that the Bears will have to do a much better job of protecting their quarterback.
We’ll have to see how Williams and the Bears bounce back from the 19-13 loss.
