Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout had surgery on May 3 to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, but it does not sound like his rehab is going according to plan, and it seems that the injury is going to cost him more time away from the game and possibly even end his season.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Los Angeles Angels announced that Mike Trout was shutting down his rehab after he “still doesn’t feel good” despite his lengthy rehab.
“We’re going to shut down his rehab in general,” Angels general manager Perry Minasian said of Trout according to ESPN. “He’s going to get reevaluated. He still doesn’t feel good, so we’ll see where that goes.”
Minasian was then asked if Trout was expected to return to the lineup this season and he did not exactly give an optimistic response to the question.
“We’ll see,” Minasian said.
Trout has not played more than 140 games since 2016, and that includes missing nearly half the season after fracturing a bone in his hand in early July. He returned for just one game in August before spending the remainder of the season on the injured list.
It sounds like this season is trending the same way.
