When Texas Longhorns starting quarterback Quinn Ewers decided to return for another season with the Longhorns this year, there was a lot of speculation that five-star quarterback Arch Manning would choose to enter the NCAA transfer portal and move to a different program where he would have a chance to start immediately. That didn’t happen, and it sounds like Manning has no plans for it to happen in the future.
During a recent interview with The Athletic at the Manning Passing Academy this month, Arch Manning made it clear that he would not be transferring from Texas, even though he admitted that it would be “tough” for him to sit behind Quinn Ewers for another season.
“It’s tough because you want to be out there playing with your boys,” Manning told Larry Holder of The Athletic. “But [it came down to] just realizing there’s nowhere else I want to be, and it was my dream to play at Texas. I’m going to stick it out and play there eventually.”
It’s a pretty bold and firm decision from Manning, and it quickly went viral on social media, leading to a lot of reactions.

Manning is one of the best club but opening the transfer window will not help them as their best tam players may run

Ewers technically still has one more season of eligibility after this one and could return next year, as well. However, he is widely expected to enter the NFL Draft following this season, paving the way for Manning to take over the starting role.
Regardless, it’s pretty clear that Manning has no plans to transfer from Texas.
