When Texas Longhorns starting quarterback Quinn Ewers decided to return for his senior season with the team this year, there was a lot of speculation that five-star quarterback Arch Manning could transfer from the program and seek an opportunity to start elsewhere immediately. Instead, he chose to stick with the Longhorns, and he explained that decision.

During a recent interview, Arch Manning explained his decision not to transfer from Texas as he made it clear that while it is “tough” that he will not be starting once again this season, he is confident that if he remains at Texas he will “play there eventually.”

“It’s tough because you want to be out there playing with your boys,” Manning told Larry Holder of The Athletic. “But [it came down to] just realizing there’s nowhere else I want to be, and it was my dream to play at Texas. I’m going to stick it out and play there eventually.”

Manning, who is the nephew of legendary NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning, has had a lot of hype since high school. Not only is he related to a couple of Hall of Fame quarterbacks, but he was also the top-rated player in the 2023 high school recruiting class.
