Golf legend Tiger Woods and pop singer Justin Timberlake, both no strangers to DUI charges, recently announced a co-investment in St. Andrews, Scotland.
The duo is opening a sports bar called T-Square Social.
According to media reports, Timberlake and Woods are shareholders in Nexus Luxury Collection, which offers “sports simulators, duckpin bowling, and darts, while retaining two cinema screens,” according to its website.
According to the BBC, Woods said the idea came to him while golfing with Timberlake at another development in the Bahamas. As consequence.net noted, Woods is “closely associated” with St. Andrews, having won the Open Championship in 2000 and 2005, while Timberlake has golfed there “several times.”
According to planning documents viewed by the BBC, Timberlake and Woods will convert an old cinema into their sports bar.
The cinema’s owners reportedly welcomed the bar proposal, saying their current arrangement “currently runs at under 10 percent occupancy and is no longer a viable stand-alone cinema operation.”
“We are taking great care to preserve and celebrate the historic architecture and design of the theatre and continue its tradition of showcasing great films, “Christopher Anand, the firmer’s CEO said in a statement to the BBC.
It’s an unlikely journey for Woods and Timberlake. Woods infamously got charged with a DUI in 2017. Timberlake recently created headlines after police in the Hamptons charged him with drunk driving.
