Police were called to the Tennessee Titans’ Nissan Stadium on Wednesday after a dead body was found on the property.
According to a report from Emily R. West of News Channel 5, a dead body was found inside a tent in one of the parking lots that surrounds the stadium on Wednesday.
“The scene consists of a dead individual found inside a tent near Lot M. A spokesperson with the Metro Nashville Police Department clarified to NewsChannel 5 that the body wasn’t wrapped in a tarp, but there was a tarp covering found near the body,” West reported for News Channel 5 on Wednesday.
While it is certainly a perplexing and somewhat starting situation, West reports that there does not seem to be foul play involved as the deceased was identified as “an unhoused man” who had recently gone missing and could not be located.
“No foul play is suspected. Police said the person who died was an unhoused man who hadn’t been seen for a couple of days. Those who knew him were attempting to locate him,” West wrote.
Needless to say, this is obviously a very sad situation for the unhoused person and all of those who knew him.
