After a disappointing loss to Panama in the group stage of the Copa America tournament on Thursday, the United States Men’s National Team now faces an uphill battle as it tries to advance out of the group and into the knockout stage of the tournament. The team now faces a must-win match with Uruguay where a win still may not be enough to advance.

The whole situation has led to a lot of conversation about the future of coach Gregg Berhalter with the team. But he doesn’t seem to want to talk about it.

During a press conference leading up to Monday’s match against Uruguay, Gregg Berhalter was asked whether or not he felt that his job should be at stake, but he refused to answer the question directly.

“That’s not for me to determine,” Berhalter responded according to Fox News as he looked out at the reporters in search of the next question.

This current USMNT roster is widely considered to be the team’s most talented in decades, so failing to even get out of the group would be a massive disappointment for the team and the coach. If that happens, it would certainly be interesting to see whether or not Berhalter would be fired.
