New Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer is taking over as the head coach of a legendary program as he replaces Nick Saban after his abrupt retirement. And it sounds like the program has lived up to the hype so far.
During a recent appearance on Next Up with Adam Breneman, Kalen DeBoer did not hold back his praise for the Alabama Crimson Tide program as he made it clear that it has “lived up to that hype” from how everyone described it.
“So many people made so much about it,” DeBoer said according to On3. “It was a lot that was said, as far as what to expect. Really, there were no surprises but it’s lived up to that hype. It’s just awesome seeing the fan base and their love for this place. The alumni and what they created and all their blood, sweat, and tears, what they’ve poured into it.”
Obviously, DeBoer has big shoes to fill as he takes over for Saban, who is perhaps the greatest head coach in college football history, and he’s got high expectations as he guides a legendary program. But it sounds like he knew exactly what he signed up for.
