It’s no secret that Caitlin Clark has brought a lot more attention to the WNBA ever since she was selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever earlier this year. But now, we have some actual numbers to show what sort of impact she has made on the league.

As analyst Michael Mulvihill pointed out on social media, Caitlin Clark has led to a surge in WNBA viewership as games featuring her have more than three times as many viewers as the average WNBA game last year, and the league has seen more than 100,000 more viewers on an average game compared to last year.

“WNBA viewership season-to-date, all networks: Caitlin Clark games – 1.184 mill. All other games – 428k All games this time last year – 301k,” Mulvihill said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Needless to say, it’s pretty insane news that one player has impacted the league this much – even when it comes to games that don’t involve her. And these numbers led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.

Clearly, Clark’s dominance in college and her move to the WNBA have been good for the league and women’s basketball as a whole.
