Indiana Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark had a rather slow start to her WNBA career last month as she often struggled to score due to the physical nature of the game. But it doesn’t sound like she was necessarily surprised by what she’s experienced in the league so far.

During a postgame interview last week, Caitlin Clark opened up a little bit about the slow start to her career as she made it clear that she was expecting it to be a step up in competition based on everything she’s seen from the league over the years.

“I knew what I was getting into,” Clark said according to The Spun. “Maybe some people didn’t know the circumstances of the WNBA. But me, personally, I know it’s one of the best leagues in the world, the players are really good. I’ve been a big fan of this league all my life. You’re starting a new chapter, a new part of your career becoming a professional athlete. Not everything’s going to click overnight. Keep working and keep grinding, and it will come over time.”

While it may be tough for her now, Clark seems to think that she will adjust and get more comfortable.
