Joe Burrow was not throwing at practice for the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday when reporters attended the team’s practice, sparking concern among Bengals fans as he continues to recover from a season-ending wrist injury. But as it turns out, there’s nothing to be concerned about.
Following the practice, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor revealed that there was no injury setback for Joe Burrow or anything to be concerned about. He simply had a scheduled off day.
“We’ve given Joe a day off every week,” Taylor explained in a video shared by Olivia Ray of WLW.

“I didn’t time this up great, I kinda thought you guys were here yesterday,” Taylor said, referring to the open practice session available to media. “So he threw yesterday, and so today is his day off.”
Taylor explained that the decision to give Burrow a day off was purely preventative to keep him from pushing himself too hard.
“Just trying to be preventative for me. He’s been feeling really good. And so when players usually communicate that they’re doing really great, you push them a little too hard,” Taylor explained. “So just as the coach, you just have to pull back on some of those guys in situations like that. So, we’ve given him a day off every week. This is his day off this week.”
Taylor also made it clear that the day off was not Burrow’s idea.
“If you ask him, he’s going to be out here every day,” Taylor said. “And that’s part of the problem.”
It sounds like Bengals fans don’t need to be concerned.
