Over the past several years, Christian McCaffrey has established himself as the most electric and versatile running back in the league. But it sounds like Atlanta Falcons young star running back Bijan Robinson thinks he could play a similar role for the Falcons.
During a recent interview, Bijan Robinson compared himself to Christian McCaffrey, making it clear that he sees himself as a versatile weapon who can do more than just run the ball.
“I’m going to be more of a runner that does everything else. . . . It’s like runner first, like what I did in college, and then still having that access to go to receiver, still having access to do creative things out of the backfield,” Robinson said according to Pro Football Talk. “More so like how they use Christian [McCaffrey] down there in San Francisco, something that like. So, that’s kind of like what the plan is here.”
Obviously, this is a pretty bold comparison considering that McCaffrey was the NFL Offensive Player of the Year last season and was among the frontrunners for the MVP Award throughout the season. The Falcons would be ecstatic if Robinson can fill that sort of role in their offense.
