Earlier this month, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker delivered a commencement address in which he was highly critical of United States President Joe Biden as he questioned the president’s commitment to his Catholic faith. But that did not stop Butker from joining the team on their visit to the White House on Thursday to celebrate their recent Super Bowl championship.
During his speech earlier this month, Harrison Butker called Joe Biden “delusional” for supporting abortion rights while also maintaining his Catholic faith.
“Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith,” Butker said in his speech earlier this month. “But at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally. He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people it appears that you can be both Catholic and pro-choice.”
But it seems that Butker was able to put his criticism aside in order to visit Biden at the White House with his team on Thursday night.
Butker’s decision to attend the team’s visit with Biden despite his comments led to a lot of reactions on social media.
Verrrrry interesting, after he spent a paragraph or two of his commencement speech insulting and railing against POTUS. I guess he's not THAT tied to those convictions of his, huh?

During the team’s visit to the White House last year, Butker gave a subtle abortion protest with his attire. It’s not clear if he did something similar this year.
