During Thursday night’s loss against the Seattle Storm, Caitlin Clark was hit with a lot of contact on quite a few plays where fouls were ultimately not called. Indiana Fever head coach Christie Sides was clearly frustrated during the game as she was given a technical for arguing with referees on what she felt was a foul on Clark, and Clark herself spoke out against the officiating in her postgame press conference.
Following the game, Caitlin Clark expressed gratitude to Sides for arguing with the referees on her behalf as she called out the officials, claiming that she was getting “hammered” on the court but the referees were not calling fouls.
“I feel like I’m getting hammered. I appreciate Christie getting a tech. I just… I don’t know,” Clark said according to Dominic Miranda of WTHR.

This is not the first time that Clark has been upset with the officiating in the WNBA. Earlier this week, Clark picked up a technical foul for arguing with officials, and cameras caught her scolding the referees in just her second game of her WNBA career.
Clark was not shy about criticizing referees at the college level and it appears that’s carried over to the WNBA.
