The Baltimore Ravens have been without reigning MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson for the vast majority of their spring practices, but head coach John Harbaugh did not necessarily have a lot to say about it when he was asked during his press conference this week.
During his press conference, John Harbaugh simply indicated that the workouts were optional and largely declined to comment on his quarterback’s decision to skip the workouts.
“It’s this time of year; it’s a voluntary time,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Thursday according to ESPN. “It’s really not something that we comment on. We can’t, and that’s just the time of year it is. So, I can’t speak for anybody that’s not here.”
Harbaugh also did not reveal whether or not he knows why Jackson has been absent from the OTAs.
“I pretty much know the different reasons guys aren’t here most of the time, but not always,” Harbaugh said. “Nobody’s required to tell you exactly what’s going on. So, I’m not really specifically going to be able to comment on anybody that way. But the guys that were here were great flying around, and those are the guys we had a great time coaching.”
Harbaugh also would not comment on whether or not he expected Jackson at practice next week.
“It’s just not something I’m really able to comment on. So I don’t know. We’ll see what happens,” he said.
Needless to say, it sounds like we won’t be getting a lot of answers on Jackson’s status from Harbaugh.
