Typically, there is a little bit of an adjustment period when a player jumps from the college game to the NFL level. But it sounds like former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Ladd McConkey is enjoying everything about playing for Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh.
The Chargers selected McConkey with the No. 34 overall pick in the NFL Draft, and McConkey made it clear that he already loves playing for new head coach Jim Harbaugh.
“Once I’ve got around him and started talking to him, he’s just a great guy,” McConkey said according to The Spun. “You can tell he really, truly cares about all his players and what’s best for them.”
McConkey thinks that the way Harbaugh coaches the team is very similar to the way he was coached at Georgia, praising the “culture” that Harbaugh has helped create with the Chargers.
“In Georgia, we focused on, everything matters. All the little things. Walkthroughs, meetings, practice, whatever it is,” McConkey said. “It’s the same culture here with Coach Harbaugh. He wants everything done right. The little things will add up and end up being the big things.”
Needless to say, it sounds like it is a good fit for both player and coach.
