The Denver Broncos are in need of a new starting quarterback after parting ways with Russell Wilson this offseason. And as the team begins OTAs, it sounds like it’s a three-man race to ultimately earn that job.

The Denver Broncos return veteran quarterback Jarrett Stidham after he replaced Russell Wilson when he was benched last season, but the team also added a couple of new faces with former New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson joining the team by way of a trade and rookie quarterback Bo Nix joining the roster after he was selected with the No. 12 overall pick in the NFL Draft. And it sounds like all three will get a chance to prove themselves.

“We try to split up all the reps,’’ Payton said according to ESPN. “There’s going to be a time when you read into the reps, I don’t think it’s early in OTAs. It’s kind of the orphan group, they’re all orphan dogs. They’ve come from somewhere, but they’re doing good. It’s a good room.”

The Broncos don’t have to name a starter for several more months. So right now, Payton just wants all the quarterbacks to get as many reps as possible.

“We go by what we see. We try to get them as many reps as possible. We rotate. We’re rotating all of them right now. They’re all in a race to learn this system. Man, they’re doing well.”

Obviously, this news led to a lot of reactions on social media.

We’ll have to see who ultimately earns the job.
