The Pittsburgh Steelers will have a new starting quarterback this upcoming season with previous starter Kenny Pickett traded to the Philadelphia Eagles and both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields joining the team after starting for other teams last year. It’ll be a big change, and it sounds like wide receiver George Pickens is happy about it.

During an interview session this week, George Pickens was asked about the two new quarterbacks coming in, and he seems to think that it will help his own production.

“I feel like it can benefit a lot,” Pickens said on Tuesday according to Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “With this type of mindset or scheme, my job is to just get open.”

Pickens seemed to have a pretty brutal assessment of how his previous quarterback Kenny Pickett played as he indicated that he felt like Pickett’s performance was holding him back.

“I can only go off of how the quarterback plays. I can thrive more,” Pickens said. “The yardage showed it. I should have made the Pro Bowl.”

We’ll have to see whether or not the addition of Wilson and Fields ultimately provides a boost for Pickens’ production this upcoming season.
