Chicago Sky star Angel Reese is one of the bigger names to enter the WNBA in this year’s 2024 WNBA Draft. And that seemingly opens up a ton of business opportunities, which she has already began to take full advantage of.
Over the course of her collegiate career at LSU, Reese made around $1.7 million on NIL deals alone. So it’s safe to say that her name holds a fair bit of weight in the eyes of potential investors looking to partner with her.
That impressive catalog of partners for Reese now includes the DC Power Football Club, a first-division women’s soccer league in the DMV area. On Tuesday, the club announced that Reese as joined on as a co-owner of the team.
“I’m honored to be able to support Power FC and invest in women’s soccer in the DMV community to continue elevating female athletes and the women’s game across the board,” wrote Reese in a statement shared on the DC Power social media account.
Reese also took to social media to offer more thoughts on the business venture, saying that she is “looking forward to creating new opportunities” in women’s soccer.
“So grateful & blessed for this new ownership! Looking forward to creating new opportunities for women in professional soccer. I’ve always had to desire to invest in a local team as a Maryland native!”

Reese is not only paving the way for a new generation of women’s basketball in the WNBA, but she is also seemingly doing the same as an owner of this women’s soccer team, which is certainly commendable.
