Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton made some big changes at the quarterback position this offseason as he decided to part ways with former starting quarterback Russell Wilson and brought in former Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix with the No. 12 overall pick in the NFL Draft. And it sounds like Nix is excited about the chance to play for Payton.
During a recent interview, Bo Nix opened up a little bit about what it’s like to play for a coach like Sean Payton, making it clear that he has a lot of respect for the accomplished and proven head coach.
“[Payton] has built a pedigree; when he talks, you listen,” Nix said according to ESPN. “It can be a lot; I think I’m being taught really well. [They’re] doing a good job of narrowing everything down, making it simple so I can just get up there and process and play fast.”
It will certainly be interesting to see how Nix and Payton are able to work together over the next few years as Nix tries to step in as the team’s next starting quarterback after the departure of Wilson. We’ll have to see how he is able to perform.
