The Chicago Bears have struggled heavily in recent years, largely due to a lack of consistency on offense and particularly at quarterback. But after the 2024 NFL Draft, their fortunes may quickly be changing, and the odds very much reflect that the team success could follow.
Chicago of course brought in former USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick in the draft this past weekend. But perhaps one of the more underrated picks in the draft came with their second pick in the first round of the draft, adding Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze with the No. 9 overall pick.
Bringing in a player like Odunze to join a wide receiving corps spearheaded by DJ Moore and Keenan Allen should give Caleb Williams an ideal number of quality targets to throw to in his rookie season. And the expectations seem to be at the highest they have been in recent memory for the team.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Bears are -140 favorites to win over 8.5 games. This means that the sportsbook believes it is more likely than not that the Bears will have a winning season, which is something that the Bears haven’t accomplished since 2018.
Only time will tell whether the Bears live up to these somewhat lofty expectations. But all the pieces are certainly there to perhaps make some noise in the NFC North if Caleb Williams plays as well as many are hoping that he will in his rookie season.
