After he helped lead the Kansas City Chiefs to their second consecutive Super Bowl title this year, there were a lot of rumors that Travis Kelce was considering retiring from the league, especially considering his newfound relationship with pop sensation Taylor Swift. Those rumors were only heightened when his brother and podcast partner Jason Kelce decided to retire following the season. But he’s not going anywhere.
Not only is Travis Kelce returning to the Kansas City Chiefs next year, but he also signed a new two-year contract with the Chiefs making him the highest-paid tight end in the entire league, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
“No more Champagne Problems: The #Chiefs and All-Pro and Pro Bowl TE Travis Kelce have agreed to terms on a new 2-year contract extension to make him the NFL’s highest-paid tight end, sources say. The deal was done by his long-time agent Mike Simon, now with @milkhoneysport,” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, Kelce still could retire next year if he chose to do so, but signing a two-year contract extension with the team seems to indicate that he does not plan to retire following next season, either.
