Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is one of the most influential athletes on the planet right now after leading the Chiefs to back-to-back Super Bowl titles, but it doesn’t sound like he will be using his status to influence the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

While Patrick Mahomes does want to ensure everyone votes in the upcoming presidential election between Donald Trump and sitting president Joe Biden, he does not want to pressure anyone in to voting for any particular president.

“I don’t want to pressure anyone to vote for a certain President,” Mahomes told Time Magazine. “I want people to use their voice, whoever they believe in. I want them to do the research.”

During the 2020 election cycle, Mahomes joined LeBron James’ “More Than A Vote” campaign to increase African American turnout at the polls, and he said that he is considering plans for this fall’s race, as well.

But even if Mahomes does take steps to improve voter turnout at the polls, it’s pretty clear that he will not be using his platform to try to tell people who to vote for. In fact, he has not even been willing to share which candidate he supports personally.

His decision seems to be to keep that all private.
