After parting ways with quarterback Russell Wilson this offseason, the Denver Broncos are in need of a new starting quarterback for the future. And it sounds like the team would be willing to put together a trade package to move up in the draft and select a quarterback if there is a guy the team really likes.
During an interview this week, Denver Broncos general manager George Paton said that the team would “do whatever it takes” to trade up in the draft if they identify a player they think would change the team.
“I would just say if it’s a player that you think can change the landscape of your organization moving forward, like quarterback, then you do whatever it takes to get him,” Paton told reporters according to Pro Football Talk. “If there’s consensus in the building, a love in the building, you’re aggressive and you try to get him. It doesn’t mean you’re going to get him, but you try. So we’re open to everything. We’re wide open.”
Paton did not reveal whether or not the team had identified a player that might fit that description, but it sounds like the team would be aggressive if there was a player they wanted at the top of the draft.
