The Washington Commanders currently hold the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. They are widely expected to select a quarterback with the pick, but it’s not exactly clear which player they are primarily targeting. But it sounds like the team is making sure to get a close look at all of their options.
According to a report from NFL insider Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, the Washington Commanders are set to meet with all three of their top options at quarterback this week: Michigan Wolverines quarterback J.J. McCarthy, North Carolina Tar Heels quarterback Drake Maye, and LSU Tigers quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels.
“Sources: The #Commanders will host J.J. McCarthy, Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels for visits next week. Washington taking a long look at all three QBs, as they hold the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft,” Schultz said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, this news led to a lot of reactions on social media.
Caleb only visiting the Bears, and now Washington is meeting with Daniels, Maye, McCarthy and not Caleb. Almost like it was never a debate to begin with🤔#Bears https://t.co/oWkJVOgFHx

I hope for Washington fans this is some elaborate subterfuge because if they have had this long to work up these three prospects are still uncertain, with them close enough on their board that these visits will be the deciding factor… https://t.co/zQnnAzZfwM

Gotta believe they are still deciding between Maye and Daniels for No. 2 pick. I do believe JJ is potentially their guy pending a trade out of #2 for what would have to be a king's ransom. #ScheftyBall https://t.co/pfRqpnoJwV

The Big 3. Who do you prefer at 2? https://t.co/yR0HjbYY1M

I’d HATE to need a QB and these are my options at #2 https://t.co/vpqPGsr5KX

With the Chicago Bears presumably set to select Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick, it will be interesting to see who the Commanders settle on at No. 2.
