The Cleveland Browns had one of the most complete rosters in all of football this past season. But the one position that consistently held them back was their quarterback situation, particularly due to the injuries to star quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Watson played in just six games this past season due to a right shoulder injury. In those games, the Browns had a 5-1 record, which shows that the team can clearly contend if he can simply stay on the field.
The three-time Pro Bowler recently began to throw, which is a great sign that he will be ready to go for the start of the upcoming 2024-25 season. And on Thursday, Watson made it clear that he indeed intends to be ready for the start of the season.
“The shoulder feels great,” Watson told reporters. “I’ll be ready for Week One for sure.”

Naturally, fans were quite excited to hear that Watson’s recovery process is seemingly going well.

Thus far, Watson has certainly failed to live up to the massive contract that the Brownsgave him upon being traded to the team. While it is true that the team won this past season when he was healthy, Watson’s individual statistics were far worse than he likely anticipated.
In his six games, Watson threw for just 1,115 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions. It goes without saying that Browns fans would love to see him perform much better on an individual level.
If Watson can have a bounce-back year this coming season, the Browns could very much be a team to look out for in the AFC playoff picture.
