There’s been a lot of conversation about just how long future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers intends to play in the NFL, with retirement rumors and speculation seemingly popping up every offseason. But it doesn’t sound like Rodgers has plans to retire anytime soon, despite all the chatter.
During a recent interview on the “Look Into It Podcast with Eddie Bravo,” Aaron Rodgers gave an update about his recovery from the Achilles injury he suffered in September and boldly announced that not only will he not be retiring this year or next, but he plans to play up to four more years in the NFL if he has some “good fortune.”
“I got back on the practice field late in the season and couldn’t get to a top speed sprinting, but really been in a good place rehab-wise, from the start, and feeling really good,” Rodgers told Bravo, according to CBS Sports. “I’m hopeful I can play two or three or four more years, but you need to have some good fortune in there too.”
Rodgers has suggested in the past that he had no intention of ever playing as long as Tom Brady played in the league. Brady ultimately retired when he was 45 years old. If Rodgers plays four more seasons, he won’t be far off from that.
