Taylor Swift declined to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show this year – which makes sense, given that she was in the middle of an international tour of her own. But it sounds like the NFL is doing everything they can to get her to perform at next year’s Super Bowl.
According to a report from The Sun, “influential figures” within the NFL are already working toward trying to convince Taylor Swift to perform at the halftime show of the upcoming Super Bowl in New Orleans.
“Two NFL business insiders, interviewed by The U.S. Sun, believe having the Cruel Summer star perform at the Caesars Superdome could make it the most watched of all time,” Steve Brenner wrote for The Sun.
“One of the sources, an external business consultant for the NFL, says influential figures within the organization are desperate to get Taylor booked up and have begun trying to make it happen.”
The consultant told The Sun that if Swift were to be the main performer at the Super Bowl’s halftime show, it would generate somewhere between $1.3 billion and $1.5 billion. In fact, Swift is so influential that her mere presence at the game this year brought in somewhere between $700 million and $750 million, the consultant estimates.
Obviously, this would be a big deal for the NFL. We’ll have to see whether or not they can make it happen.
