The Buffalo Bills have had some of the most dominant teams in the league over the past few seasons led by a generational talent at quarterback in Josh Allen. But so far, they have been unable to win or even reach the Super Bowl. But head coach Sean McDermott is still keeping the faith.
During a recent exclusive sit-down interview with The Athletic, Sean McDermott was asked about the team’s pursuit of a Super Bowl Championship. And had quite a bold message about the team’s quest for a Lombardi Trophy.
“It’s not a matter of if. It’s just a matter of when,” McDermott said according to Tim Graham of The Athletic. “That is the relentless pursuit.”
While the Bills have been quite dominant in recent years with their combination of prolific offense and stingy defense, they have been unable to get past the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC playoffs.
If the team is going to win a Super Bowl in the near future, as McDermott predicts, they are going to have to get past Patrick Mahomes and/or Joe Burrow in the postseason, which has proven to be no easy task.
We’ll have to see whether or not McDermott can live up to these bold words.
