Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout has established himself as one of the best and most dominant players of his generation when he’s healthy, winning Major League Baseball’s MVP Award three times throughout his career. It seems like the only thing that can slow him down is his health – and that’s been a struggle for him in recent years.
Mike Trout has not been able to remain healthy for longer than 140 games in a season since 2016. That included last year when he missed nearly half the season. Trout fractured a bone in his hand in early July and was able to return for just one game in August before spending the remainder of the season on the injured list.
The injuries certainly have not been easy for Trout.
“If I’m on the field it makes a difference for sure,” Trout said. “It crushes me. I mean, I hate talking about it. I always want to be out there with the guys, so I’m going to go out there. Even if I’m 60%, I try to go out there and play. It kills me when after coming to the clubhouse and not seeing my name in that lineup.”
We’ll have to see if the superstar can remain healthy this season.
