The Kansas City Chiefs won their second consecutive Super Bowl title on Sunday night with a win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, marking the third time in five seasons that Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have won the title. And after the game, Mahomes got pretty brutally honest about the fan reaction to their dominance.
During his postgame press conference, Patrick Mahomes addressed the fact that some fans have likely grown tired of watching the Chiefs win all the time, but he made it pretty clear that the Chiefs are trying their best to enjoy the ride anyway.
“I hope people remember not only the greatness that we have on the field, but the way that we’ve done it,” Mahomes said according to ESPN. “I feel like we enjoy it every single day. We have fun, we play hard and it’s not always pretty, but we just continue to fight to the very end.
“I know [some fans] get fatigue sometimes of one team winning, but we try to enjoy it and just enjoy the moment that we have together and enjoy just kind of what we can do every single day to bring the best out of each other.”
The Chiefs will have a chance to become the first team in NFL history to win the Super Bowl three times in a row next season. We’ll have to see if they can make history.
