Heading into the Super Bowl LVIII matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, Grammy-wining rapper Drake made a pretty massive wager on the Kansas City Chiefs to win, and that wager paid off in a pretty massive way on Sunday night.
During the week leading up to the Super Bowl, Drake took to social media to share a screenshot of his bet slip for the game, showing a $1.15 million wager placed on the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl LVIII over the Niners – and he had quite the explanation for why he made the decision.
“Can’t bet against the Swifties,” the rapper said in his Instagram post, in reference to Taylor Swift and her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Obviously, the bet worked out for him as the Chiefs came away with a 25-22 win over the Niners in overtime. As a result, Drake is now quite a bit more wealthy as the bet returned a massive sum of $2.346 million – a profit of $1.196 million for the Rapper.
So while the Chiefs, Swift, and the Swifties were celebrating the big win on Sunday night, it’s safe to say that Drake was right there with them.
