Over the past several months, global pop superstar Taylor Swift has become a mainstay at Kansas City Chiefs games in support of her new boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Given that Swift is likely the most famous woman on the planet, her presence at games has attracted a lot of attention, and Super Bowl winning head coach Tony Dungy seems to think that’s ruining the sport.

During a recent interview with Fox News, Tony Dungy spoke on why he thinks young people are increasingly “disenchanted” with sports.

“I think we’ll always have sports in some form or fashion. Some people are disenchanted with it,” Dungy said.

When asked about “The Taylor Swift Effect” in the NFL right now, Dungy claimed that Swift had some blame in “disenchanting people” from watching sports.

“That’s the thing that’s disenchanting people with sports now,” Dungy said of Swift. “There’s so much on the outside coming in. Entertainment value and different things. Taking away from what really happens on the field.”

Dungy quickly took a lot of heat on social media for his comments as people blasted him in their reactions.

Swift has made it clear that she is simply attending games in support of Kelce and does not particularly care who is bothered by her appearance or the attention she receives.
