Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is currently engulfed in an abortion scandal with an Instagram model who claims he got her pregnant.
The model, Paige Jordae, who has over 418,000 followers on Instagram, posted text messages that she said showed Edwards pressuring her to get an abortion. Jordae also produced an image that showed Edwards wired her $100,000 to compensate her for the trouble.
“I made comments in the heat of a moment that are not me, and that are not aligned with what I believe and who I want to be as a man,” Edwards wrote in a statement posted on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
“All women should be supported and empowered to make their own decisions about their bodies and what is best for them,” he said, concluding with, “I am handling my personal matters privately and will not be commenting on them any further at this time.”
Edwards currently has an ongoing romance with girlfriend Jeanine Robel, who is pregnant with his child.
But in messages with Jordae, Edwards repeatedly told her to take “the pill” and prove it by taking a video of the box that the pill came in.
“Send da video,” Edwards repeatedly said.
