Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes went off a cliff after a September in which they seemingly took the sport by storm.
The Buffaloes got out to a 3-0 start after a season in which they went 1-11. But they have certainly cooled off after they finished 1-8 in Pac-12 play.
Still, former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin is looking forward to what Sanders produces in his second year in Boulder.
“Coach Prime lifted Colorado from one win last year to four in year 1,” Griffin wrote Saturday night. “From no hope to hope for a bright future. Whether you love him or love to hate him, you watched Deion Sanders’ team at levels never seen before for a team coming off a one-win season. Next year will be fun.”
That didn’t stop former Washington Commanders coach Jay Gruden from taking a potshot at Sanders’ four wins.
“I wish four wins was the standard,” Gruden wrote. “I’d still be coaching.”

“I don’t want to laugh because I know you didn’t watch the video Coach but this is a hilarious response,” Griffin wrote in return with a series of crying-laughing emojis.
Sanders will certainly be looking to revamp his team even further in the transfer portal that opens next month.
