Earlier this year, Bud Light ignited a controversy when they partnered with famous transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney, leading to boycotts and backlash against the popular tailgate beer brand and hate toward Mulvaney. But after all that transpired, Mulvaney has been given a pretty prestigious award for her bravery.
This week, Dylan Mulvaney was named the Woman of the Year by Attitude Magazine – a Gay and LGBTQ news, TV, film, travel, fashion, music magazine that is based in the United Kingdom.
“Dylan Mulvaney is our Woman of the Year, supported by @VirginAtlantic,” Attitude magazine wrote in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday.

Mulvaney was quick to respond to the honor with a post on social media
“Knowing that my community sees me this way and acknowledges my womanhood is all I need to keep going,” Mulvaney said, acknowledging the fact that Attitude Magazine is a gay magazine.
Mulvaney has been outspoken about some of the criticism she received after partnering with Bud Light, revealing that she received death threats and often feared for her life as conservatives expressed their anger. Mulvaney was given the award in part due to the bravery she showed in the face of this backlash.
