Pop sensation Taylor Swift brought her iconic Eras Tour throughout the United States, and it was a resounding success as she sold out every one of her shows which were held in the largest NFL stadiums throughout the nation. Her tour has been so successful that she’s expected to break $2 billion in ticket sales in North America alone.
According to data provided to CNN by research firm QuestionPro, the pop superstar’s tour is expected to become the highest-grossing tour of all time, surpassing Elton John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour which grossed just over $887 million from 2018 to 2023.
“The tour could gross $2.2 billion in North American ticket sales alone, according to August survey data from research firm QuestionPro provided to CNN exclusively. That unprecedented total represents primary ticket sales for the US shows that Swift just concluded in Los Angeles, plus a second North American leg coming next year,” CNN reported earlier this month.
It’s pretty insane news, and it led to all sorts of reactions on social media.

Swift recently turned down a chance to perform at the Super Bowl, which came as a surprise to many. But as renowned media personality Joe Pompliano pointed out in a recent Instagram post, it actually makes sense given how much Swift is making from this tour alone.
“Taylor Swift turned down the Super Bowl’s halftime show. And it was a genius decision,” Pompliano said. “Taylor Swift is the World’s most popular artist. People are paying an average of $1500 to see her in concert. And her current tour is expected to generate more than $2 billion in ticket sales alone. So it makes sense that the NFL would ask her to do the Super Bowl half-time show. But that doesn’t mean it makes sense for Taylor Swift.”
