New York Rangers left winger Derek Boogaard, considered one of the most intimidating players in the NHL, was found dead in his Minneapolis apartment on Friday. The cause of his death is currently unknown.
Boogaard had just finished his first season with the NY Rangers after spending his first five with the Minnesota Wild.
Rangers president and General Manager had this to say:
“Derek was an extremely kind and caring individual. He was a very thoughtful person who will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends and teammates during this difficult time.”
