For the low, low price of $1.6 million, one can now buy the very apartment that Babe Ruth once lived on New York’s Upper West Side.
The two-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment, which was built in 1913, was Ruth’s residence from 1929 to 1940 according to Babe Ruth’s daughter, Julia Ruth Stevens.
Interestingly, Babe actually owned the entire seventh floor when he lived at the Upper West Side apartment. It was then split into two units after he moved out.
Prospective buyers with cash to throw around (and if you’re looking for an apartment in New York City, I’m guessing that’s the case) should note that the apartment does have some pretty expensive upkeep costs. Buyers of the apartment where Ruth once lived are charged a $2,864 monthly fee for maintenance on the property.
Still, the bragging rights of owning this place would be priceless, right?
