ESPN baseball analyst and embodiment of your cantankerous uncle’s Facebook page Curt Schilling is in hot water for a dumb and offensive tweet that the retired pitcher posted on social media on Tuesday.
The since deleted post included an image comparing Muslims to Germans in the 1940s.
Needless to say, this didn’t go over well with, well, pretty much everyone, including his current employer. ESPN quickly responded to Schilling’s extremely stupid views on politics and history by issuing a statement condemning Schilling’s posts and removing him from his Little League World Series assignment:
ESPN comment on Schilling: Curt’s tweet was completely unacceptable, and in no way represents our company’s perspective. We made that point very strongly to Curt and have removed him from his current Little League assignment pending further consideration.
For his part, Schilling has readily accepted his well-earned punishment, saying that he made “a bad decision.”
I understand and accept my suspension. 100% my fault. Bad choices have bad consequences and this was a bad decision in every way on my part.
