Mark Teixeira is having a great season and his team’s in first place, but you wouldn’t know that by watching him Monday night.
The Yankees first baseman had a frustrating time at the plate. In the second inning, he hit a shot to center field but was robbed of a homer by Leonys Martin.

Later, in the eighth, Martin continued to be a thorn in Teixeira’s side. On a Chase Headley bloop single, Martin gunned him down with a stellar throw to home plate. This prompted Teixeira to take his anger out on a pair of trash cans.

The Yankees beat the Rangers 6-2 and currently hold a seven-game lead in the American League East, so Teixeira (at least we hope) was able to calm down a bit after the game.
