This is strange to say, but the Timberwolves might have the most exciting under-23 core in the NBA. They already had Zach Lavine and Andrew Wiggins on the perimeter, jumping out of the building to catch lobs from each other, but they also added Karl-Anthony Towns, giving Ricky Rubio another target on fastbreaks.
And it looks like the 6-foot-11 Kentucky product can throw it down with the best of ’em.
The Timberwolves are going to be a sneaky fun team to watch next season. The Timberwolves could be a tough team to stop on the break, especially with the ball in Rubio’s hands and Town’s potentially spacing the floor with his range. Imagine some combination of Rubio-to-LaVine-to-Towns-to-Wiggins lobs on the fastbreak.
Maybe against the Lakers.
