The Running of the Bulls is one of the most unique events in the world and despite its life-threatening dangers, thousands of thrill-seekers continue to participate every year. The event’s origins trace back seven centuries when bulls were transported through towns in northeastern Spain, at which time ballsy youngsters would race among them to show their death-defying bravery.
The once-unheraled event has slowly transformed into a world-renown bucket list item in Pamplona, Spain. The runnings are just one piece of the San Fermin Festival but it dominates the eight-day celebration, for obvious reasons. The odds of being trampled and/or gored by the bulls remain relatively low, but dozens of people are injured every year and the death toll is said to be 15 since 1910, a shockingly small number all things considered.
