Daniel Boria is a true pioneer, but one that found himself in jail for a creative, and extremely dangerous, publicity stunt. Boria owns a cleaning business in Calgary, Alberta and was seeking to drive attract new customers by strapping 120 oversized helium balloons to a lawn chair.
He was immediately launched into the air, where he flew over a portion of the city for a short period of time. Upon deploying his parachute and landing to safety, he was immediately arrested and charged on one count of “mischief causing danger to life”. Although Boria landed safely after a short flight, his lawn chair did not. As of Tuesday morning, the chair had not yet landed, according to CNN.
“I’d estimate I was going up about 500 to 1,000 feet in a minute,” Borias told reporters. “I was looking down on the city and watching 747s and planes approaching the local airport.”
