On Wednesday, Jimmy Butler agreed to return to the Chicago Bulls on a four year contract with a player option for a fifth worth around $95 million if he takes the fifth-year option.

Considering how young and promising Butler is as a player, it’s not surprising that Chicago was willing to pay a large amount of money to lock down Butler for the next few years. Last season, Butler averaged 20 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

Coincidentally, President Obama, a very vocal Bulls fan, was also holding his own Twitter Q&A regarding health care on the same day that the Bulls re-signed Butler. When he was asked for his opinion of the Bulls deal, the President seemed very pleased at the prospect of Butler playing for the Bulls for the foreseeable future (Although he may have not heard that the signing was already a done deal).
